Alumni Outreach Initiative
Did you graduate from USF with a degree in Sociology? If so, we want to hear from
you! You are invited to be a Sociology Department Alumni Associate. In this capacity
you can be a valuable resource to us to help us fulfill our mission and improve
our services to our students, the community and the research world. Hopefully we
can also be a resource for you, because one of the department’s missions is
to forge strong relationships with the community.
For example, if you are a teacher, you may be able to help us improve our courses
and likewise we may be able to do the same for you. Or, if you work in social services,
you can help us shape our curriculum so our students are better prepared for jobs
like yours.Or if you work in research, perhaps there are opportunities for mutual
collaboration. These are only a few of the possible ways Alumni Associates and the
Sociology Department can be of aid to each other.
Becoming an Alumni Associate is simple. Just send an email to the Sociology Department
Alumni Outreach Coordinator, Professor Michael Kleiman, at
mkleiman@cas.usf.edu . Include your mailing address, any other contact information
you want us to have, and when you graduated from USF with your Sociology degree.
Also, please tell us something about your job history or other experience. That
way we will know how you can best advise us. When we get your email we will send
you a letter welcoming you on board, along with a packet of information telling
you about the some of the department’s latest activities.
Your service in this capacity would be at your convenience, of course.Registering
as an Alumni Associate doesn’t obligate you to anything, if you later find
you don’t have the time. Together we can accomplish great things!
