Toria Kwan obtained their Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Gender Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University. During their time in undergrad, they were the vice president of the To Write Love On Her Arms university chapter and co-creator of the FGCU Death Café.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Toria continued on to the Master’s program at the University of South Florida in Sociology. They wrote their thesis on video game representation, specifically in relation to the gender, sexual, racial and ethnic, and intersectional representation in the critically acclaimed game The Last of Us.

Currently, Toria is a first year PhD student in Sociology at USF. They hope to write their dissertation on the lived stories of LGBTQ+ individuals and their experiences with queer shame and queer pride.
